Four days allow for a richer experience than a very short escape, but the best route depends on your travel dates, arrival and departure times, and the amount of time you wish to spend in each destination. Your final itinerary will be tailored and confirmed before booking.
The following is a sample itinerary framework. The final destinations, overnight locations and driving schedule will be confirmed according to your travel dates, preferred parks, accommodation and flight times.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or another agreed arrival point and meet your Smiling African Travel representative. Depending on your arrival time, transfer to Arusha or continue towards your selected overnight destination. Your guide will brief you on the safari arrangements and the experiences planned for the days ahead.
After breakfast, set out with your private guide towards the selected national park. If Tarangire is part of your confirmed route, explore its distinctive landscapes, woodland and savannah, looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife. Enjoy a game drive before continuing to your confirmed overnight accommodation.
Continue your safari with a guided exploration of the destination included in your confirmed itinerary. Depending on the route, this may mean further game drives in a wildlife park, a visit to another selected destination or time exploring the landscapes around the Ngorongoro highlands. Your guide will plan the day around driving distances, park access and available time.
Depending on your departure time and overnight location, enjoy breakfast and a final activity before beginning your transfer to the agreed airport or onward destination. The day's plan will account for realistic driving times and airport check-in requirements. If you would like more time in the wilderness, ask our team about extending your trip.
Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti are possible northern Tanzania destinations, but not all can necessarily be covered comfortably in four days. Your final route should be selected according to arrival and departure times, driving distances and your priorities.
